The aim of the inspection was to check foods that declare the content of the substance muscimol or that can reasonably be assumed to contain muscimol, to see whether the amount of muscimol contained does not pose a risk to consumers.

Muscimol causes disturbances of consciousness, induces hallucinations and has other effects on the central nervous system.

Furthermore, the content of psilocybin and psilocin, which are psychotropic substances listed in Annex No. 4 to Government Regulation No. 463/2013 Coll., on lists of addictive substances whose presence in food is prohibited, was examined.
